The Sept 21st, 2024 Judged Pleasure Ride

Our annual Judged Pleasure Ride is another primary means of raising funds for bridle trail maintenance and improvements at the Gettysburg National Military Park. The ride is held on the historic grounds of the Spangler Farm, owned by the Gettysburg Foundation. Through their generosity we will be riding on land only open to horseback riders who participate in our Judged Pleasure Ride! You will be riding on the very ground where Union Artillery was held in reserve for the battle. Union troops crossed the same fields enroute to sounds of war. Additionally, as you ride there will be numerous sightings of the summer kitchen where Confederate General Armistead died after the famous Pickett’s Charge. This area has a boundary next to Artillery Ridge Campground, your departure point. Ten fun and challenging obstacles will be encountered as you ride over gently rolling meadows for about 3-4 hours. You will designate a preferred time for departure on your form.

Obstacles listed in no particular order.
